Draymond Green Blasts Lakers' Free Throw Attempts After Game 3

The Lakers are shooting a lot of free throws against the Warriors.

One thing that everyone wants to talk about in the Lakers vs Warriors playoff series is free throws, including Draymond Green.

After the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Golden State Warriors in Game 3, Draymond Green spoke to the media about how unhappy he was with how many free throws the Lakers shot - especially during the second quarter.

“The game stopped," Green stated. "They go to the free throw line every time. It is what it is, game over now. Don't matter if I'm satisfied. Don't matter.”

The free throw numbers in Game 3 were quite staggering. The Los Angeles Lakers shot 37 free throws compared to the Warriors' 17 free throws. What makes it even more astonishing is that the Warriors only had two fewer points in the paint than the Lakers - 46 to 44. In the two losses the Warriors suffered in Games 1 and 3, the Warriors shot 42 fewer free throws than the Lakers. Saying the numbers out loud sounds legitimately surreal.

It seems like no NBA team is happy about how the officiating has been in these playoffs, especially when it comes to free throws. The LA Clippers shot over 20 fewer free throws than the Phoenix Suns in Game 3, Russell Westbrook shot zero free throws in Game 4, and shortly thereafter Suns coach Monty Williams complained about free throws against the Denver Nuggets after Game 2. No one is happy about free throws right now.

Regardless of how the whistle blows, the Golden State Warriors have to find a way to win.
