Golden State Warriors Make NBA History vs Trail Blazers

The Golden State Warriors set a ridiculous record.

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday afternoon to secure a playoff spot, but they didn't just defeat the Trail Blazers, they obliterated Portland.

The Warriors defeated the Trail Blazers by an insane 56 points and set an NBA record in the process. The Golden State Warriors scored 55 points in the first quarter against the Trail Blazers, in a moment that actually became the most points scored in a first quarter in NBA history.

Klay Thompson scored 17 points in the first quarter with five threes. Jordan Poole scored 12 points with four threes. Steph Curry scored 8 points with one three. Moses Moody scored 6 points, Donte DiVincenzo scored 4 points, Draymond Green scored 2 points, Kevon Looney scored 2 points, Gary Payton II scored 2 points, and Jonathan Kuminga scored 2 points. All nine players who checked into the game for the Golden State Warriors all scored a basket, and the entire team shot 69% from the field. What's even more amazing is that the Warriors only shot three free throws in a quarter where they scored 55 points. At the end of the first quarter, the Warriors lead the Trail Blazers 55-27.

There wasn't a more perfect situation for the Golden State Warriors to finish the season on. The team is clicking, winning on the record, and now facing the Sacramento Kings in a matchup that they likely prefer.
