Golden State Warriors Star Reacts to Klay Thompson Getting Benched

The Warriors are sticking with Thompson off the bench for now

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made the decision on Thursday night to bring Klay Thompson off the bench. Speaking with reporters after the game, Kerr explained his reasoning, stating the following:

"I've been thinking about it. The lineup with Brandin [Podziemski] out there with [Andrew Wiggins], [Jonathan Kuminga], Draymond [Green] and Steph [Curry] has been by far our best lineup. BP connects the game. He rebounds, he does some things that really help the other guys... It doesn't mean it's permanent, but I like that lineup with BP and the other four. And Klay coming off the bench gives us a lot of firepower. We'll give it a little look and we'll see how it goes from there."

Warriors star Andrew Wiggins also reacted to the move after the game, saying, "He’s a true professional. He didn’t complain or nothing. He took it out on the court, and it showed. He played his heart out, had a great game, played competitive, and that’s the Klay we love to see... Klay is that guy who everyone wants to see do good. He’s a great guy, he works hard... everyone wants him to do good."

With the support of his teammates, Thompson went out and had a great game, helping lead the Warriors to a much needed victory entering the All-Star break.
