Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Takes Lighthearted Jab at Steph Curry

Kareem jokingly wants to slap Steph Curry.

If there's one player who has a strong opinion about the modern NBA, it's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. However, Kareem is arguably the greatest player in NBA history, so his opinion holds tremendous merit - even when it's at the expense of Steph Curry.

Kareem gave his thoughts about the modern NBA in a recent interview, where he also took a lighthearted jab at Steph Curry for changing the game.

"They've forgotten about anything that does not say three points on it. I've gotta go across the Bay and slap Steph Curry for changing everybody's mind about how to play the game," Kareem said with a smile.

Everything that Kareem is saying here is absolutely true. Even though he's telling a joke, there is some truth to the statement. Steph Curry has definitely changed the game of basketball. No player would ever dare shoot the types of shots Curry takes before he started it, and now there are multiple players like Damian Lillard and Trae Young shooting the same types of shots.

Whether or not people think Steph Curry changed the game of basketball for better or worse is a completely different story. Some could argue that the Mike D'Antoni seven seconds or less system became the prelude to what we see in the modern NBA. Make no mistake, the current product is a track meet of three-point shooting with very little defense, that many coaching greats and players have lambasted. However, it would be unfair to completely put that on the shoulders of Steph Curry.
