Klay Thompson Makes History in Warriors vs. Rockets Game
With 12 threes in Friday night's game vs. the Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors sniper Klay Thompson broke his tie with Steph Curry for the most games in NBA history with at least 12 makes from deep. It was another historical performance from Thompson, who led the Warriors to a much-needed victory.
Golden State has struggled all season to stay above .500, and the struggle has been magnified lately with the injury absence of Steph Curry. In this game vs. the Rockets, not only was Curry sidelined, but Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins were out as well. As he has done so many times throughout his career, Thompson rose to the occasion and stepped up with a record-breaking performance.
With Steph Curry being the undisputed greatest shooter of all-time, Klay Thompson is likely second. Other players have a case, but the combination of Thompson's efficiency, volume, and clutch factor makes him a good choice. In addition to all of that, Thompson also has several of the most impressive shooting performances in NBA history. Outside of Steph Curry, there is really nobody like him.
Above all else, as previously mentioned, the Warriors needed a win in this game. The Rockets are not a good team, but without Curry, Green, and Wiggins, the Warriors were in trouble. With a historic performance, Klay Thompson stepped up and delivered a win.
