Klay Thompson Sends Message to Jordan Poole

Klay Thompson offered some words to Jordan Poole.

Jordan Poole may no longer be a member of the Golden State Warriors anymore, but he's still one of the key figures from the 2022 NBA Championship. As such, the bond between Klay Thompson and Steph Curry remains strong no matter what happens.

After the Warriors faced off against the Wizards on Tuesday night, Klay Thompson offered some words of encouragement to a struggling Jordan Poole.

“He’s come off the bench before: 2022 playoffs,” Klay said. “He can lean in on that experience. Jordan Poole; I love Jordan. I know he has great, great seasons ahead of him.”

Jordan Poole hasn't been the breakout star that the people were expecting, but he's got plenty of time. The Washington Wizards aren't necessarily trying to win games, and that's something for Poole to take into account as a young player.

“Obviously, they’re in more of a rebuilding mode, so I think there’s a lot more on his shoulders to carry the load every night,” Thompson said. “He’s got all the time in the world. It’s just about staying consistent. He’ll get there. He’s still incredibly young. He’s 23.”

This season, Jordan Poole is averaging 16.0 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds on 40/31/86 shooting. His numbers are the lowest they've been since the 2020-21 season. While Poole's number could just be a slump right now, the most important thing is that he doesn't get in his own head during the struggle - that's what Klay Thompson is hoping for.
