Speaking with Sam Amick of The Athletic, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson was asked if his recent benching alters his desire to re-sign with the franchise beyond this season.

"Not really," Thompson told Amick. “I mean, you’ve still got to examine all of your options, but I would love to be a Warrior for life. Whatever happens though, I’ve got a few more years to play this game, so I’m gonna enjoy every second. I realize that I see light at the end of the tunnel, (and) I’m not sure if I want to play until I’m 40, man. That sounds really exhausting.”

Recognizing that he does not have too many years left in the NBA, Thompson would prefer all of those to come with the Warriors, whether that's as a starter or a reserve. Spending an entire Hall-of-Fame career with one franchise is a very rare accomplishment, and it's something Golden State's trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all hope to do.

All three of Golden State's core dynasty players are future Hall-of-Famers, and while they are all at different points in their respective careers, they recognize that there are not many runs left. Wanting to maximize their remaining time together, Curry, Thompson, and Green all seem determined to finish out the end of their careers together.
