Lakers Give Major Update on Anthony Davis's Game 6 Status

The Los Angeles Lakers will list Davis on the injury report as probable for Game 6 vs. the Warriors

After suffering a scary head injury in Game 5 vs. the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has avoided a concussion. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said that Davis has not entered the league's concussion protocol, and will be listed as probable for Game 6 in LA.

This is fantastic news, as Davis took an accidental a shot to the head that forced him to miss the remainder of Wednesday night's Game 5 loss. There was some concern that the star big man could enter the NBA's concussion protocol, which would put his status in jeopardy for the remainder of the series, but that outcome has been avoided.

With Davis likely playing in Game 6, the Lakers will look to close Golden State out at home. Unbeatable on their home floor so far this postseason, the Lakers are looking to avoid a Game 7 back in San Francisco. The Warriors did well to protect their home court in Game 5, and will now try to force a Game 7 after falling behind 3-1 in the series.

The Warriors have been in this situation before, and will draw from that experience as they enter what will be a hostile Los Angeles arena in Game 6. Struggling on the road during the regular season, the Warriors do have an elimination game victory on the road already this postseason, and will look to make it one more in Los Angeles.
