Major DeMar DeRozan to Golden State Warriors Trade Idea Proposed

Could the Golden State Warriors make this trade with the Chicago Bulls?

The Golden State Warriors need some serious changes at the trade deadline if they want to contend for a championship. Far from contention as currently constructed, Golden State current sits two full games back of a play-in spot.

With one of the Warriors' top trade targets now off the market in Pascal Siakam, Golden State now must pivot to other options. In a recent article from Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley, a hypothetical trade was proposed that lands Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan in Golden State.

The trade:  DeRozan and Jevon Carter to the Golden State Warriors for Chris Paul, Moses Moody, a 2026 first-round pick (top-three protected), a 2026 second-round pick (via ATL) and a 2028 second-round pick (via ATL)

In this hypothetical deal, the Warriors land another star in DeRozan, while Chicago finally pivots into a rebuild, landing Moody and three draft picks. The expiring salary of Chris Paul would be used for financial logistics, as he would likely be bought out by the Bulls and given an opportunity to sign with a contender.

The Warriors have been reluctant to trade away any of their young players, most notably Moody and Jonathan Kuminga, but perhaps the right star player in return could change their mind. Could that player be DeRozan? It seems the Warriors need even more help than he could offer at this point, but that is who was named in this hypothetical trade proposal.
