Major Jordan Poole to the Raptors Trade Idea

Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors?

A major piece to Golden State's 2022 championship run, Warriors guard Jordan Poole was unable to replicate that success last season. Poole struggled mightily in the playoffs, and the Warriors were eliminated in the Western Conference Semi-Finals by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Because of Poole's struggles, along with speculation that his relationship with Draymond Green may not be fully-repaired, some have suggested the young guard would benefit from a change of scenery. In a recent article from Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes, a hypothetical trade idea between the Warriors and Toronto Raptors was proposed.

In this trade idea, Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga head to Toronto, with OG Anunoby going to Golden State. As Hughes notes in the article, Toronto likely rejects this trade, as Poole's salary would complicate their already difficult contract situations. That said, Hughes believes Anunoby would be a good fit with the Warriors, while Poole would be better off running his own show somewhere like Toronto.

The Anunoby to Golden State idea has been floated around since the trade deadline, as Golden State could undeniably use some wing help. While his fit with the Warriors does project to be a good one, Toronto is rumored to want a significant package in return, which is something Golden State may be unwilling to part with.

If the Raptors do choose to blow it up this summer, Anunoby will be a name to watch.
