Major Kyle Kuzma to Golden State Warriors Trade Idea Proposed

Could the Golden State Warriors land Kyle Kuzma?

The Golden State Warriors were reportedly interested in trading for Pascal Siakam before the Toronto Raptors sent him to the Indiana Pacers. Now with the top forward option off the market (assuming the Utah Jazz are not making Lauri Markkanen available), the Warriors must now pivot to other possible trade candidates.

In a recent article from Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report, Kyle Kuzma was named as an option for the Warriors. While this was of course a hypothetical proposal, as opposed to reporting, the rationale made some sense:

"The addition of Kyle Kuzma would help jump-start what's become a lethargic offense, giving the Warriors a secondary scoring option behind Stephen Curry," Swartz wrote. "The 28-year-old can line up at either forward position, either playing the 4 in small-ball lineups with Draymond Green at center or sliding up to the 3 if the Warriors play a more traditional big. Kuzma has become a better and more willing passer now seven years into his career and should fit into Steve Kerr's ball-movement-heavy offense."

While Kuzma alone is likely not enough to pull the Warriors from the 12th seed to serious contenders, his addition would be a good start. The Warriors simply need more production outside of Steph Curry, and Kuzma's 21.8 PPG would help.

While it would of course depend on the package being sent to Washington, a Kuzma deal could make some sense for Golden State.
