Major Pascal Siakam Trade Update Amid Warriors Interest

The Golden State Warriors may not be dealing for Pascal Siakam

It has been reported several places that the Golden State Warriors have a level of interest in trading for Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam, but a new report from Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed that the Indiana Pacers are engaged with Toronto on a possible deal.

"The Raptors and Pacers are actively engaged in trade talks centered around two-time All-Star forward Pascal Siakam that would send him to Indiana for a package that includes Bruce Brown Jr., other salaries and three first-round draft picks, league sources tell The Athletic," Charania wrote.

Charania did confirm the Warriors have expressed a level of interest, adding, "The Kings had been among other suitors for Siakam, but decided to pull out of conversations in recent weeks, league sources say. Siakam is also known to be against the potential prospect of re-signing in Sacramento, making a Kings deal even more problematic. The Warriors and Mavericks have expressed exploratory interest in Siakam as well, according to league sources."

While this of course does not mean Siakam is for sure headed to Indiana, it seems there has been some real momentum on a possible deal between the Pacers and Raptors. This would leave the Warriors without one of their reported trade targets, and force them to pivot in a different direction as they hope to remain active at the deadline.
