New York Knicks Player Reveals Message From Steph Curry

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry means a lot to Donte DiVincenzo

Donte DiVincenzo played himself out of what the Golden State Warriors could offer in free agency, and ultimately signed with the New York Knicks after one season in Golden State. In a recent interview with The Athletic, DiVincenzo revealed a message from Steph Curry that helped influence his decision to join the Knicks.

"Ultimately, he said it,” DiVincenzo told The Athletic when asked about Curry encouraging him to join New York. “It was on my mind. You know, I’m a grown man. I make my own decisions, but to have somebody of that stature to almost voice the opinion that I’m thinking — it makes you feel good about the decision you’re making, rather than if he says something way out of left field and you kind of start to question things. … He reinforced what I was thinking about New York."

Curry also spoke to The Athletic, and detailed why he felt the Knicks would be a good fit for DiVincenzo, and why it meant a lot that the one-year Warriors player would seek his advice in free agency.

While Curry and the Warriors would have loved to keep DiVincenzo in Golden State, they were unable to offer what he ultimately got from New York, and the versatile guard is now playing a very important role for the Eastern Conference playoff team.
