Steph Curry Reacts to Controversy in Warriors vs Mavericks

Steph Curry revealed his perspective on the very controversial play.

The last 24 hours in the NBA have been highly exciting and controversial. From controversial technical fouls in Clippers vs Thunder, to Ja Morant's return, and now the latest topic was the controversial ATO play during the Warriors vs Mavericks.

As everyone is aware by now, the Golden State Warriors were essentially gifted two points during a confusing time out call that led the Dallas Mavericks to believe it was their ball. While it may have seemed confusing at first, Steph Curry believes it was pretty clear what was going on after the time out was called.

"I was down on the bench I think," Curry said. "Saw the ref pointing in our direction for the ball, and then point the other way towards their bench to call the time out. Loon actually go a little confused at first, because he didn't hear the whistle for the time out. After that, it was pretty clear that it was our ball and nobody from their side went down to get it, because it was whatever it was. Probably the easiest two points Loon's ever had and the easiest assist JP's ever had. It was weird, but it was clear what was going on from our standpoint."

The Dallas Mavericks ultimately ended up protesting the game because they lost by two points, and while there is reason to gripe, the play was in the third quarter. Teams play to the scoreboard, and Dallas simply failed to win after that moment.
