Steph Curry Reacts to Warriors Exploring LeBron James Trade

The Golden State Warriors checked about a LeBron James trade with the Lakers

It was reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne that the Golden State Warriors checked with the Los Angeles Lakers about the possibility of a LeBron James trade prior to the deadline.

"The Warriors were eager to present a package deal to L.A., but neither the Lakers nor James were willing to explore a potential blockbuster. Even at 39 years old, James is still playing at an All-NBA level that stirred the Warriors' imagination about his ability to extend the window of the franchise's fading dynasty," ESPN wrote.

Asked about this following Wednesday night's loss to the LA Clippers, Warriors star Steph Curry said, "No, never surprised. It's always a surprise when stuff like that gets out, because I'm assuming that every team is making calls that if every fanbase or media group would know about it, it would normalize the conversations that happen in the front office, especially around the trade deadline when you're exploring around the league who's available and who's not."

Curry added, "Obviously a guy like Bron, you would probably call just to see. I don't know what the depths of the conversations were, but it was a nice little surprise this morning for sure."

The Warriors did not end up making a deal for James, as neither he nor the Lakers seemed open to the idea.
