Steve Kerr Reacts to Milwaukee Bucks Firing Coach Mike Budenholzer

Steve Kerr is very disappointed in the Bucks.

Perhaps the most shocking moment of the NBA season was the first-seeded Milwaukee Bucks losing in five games to the eighth-seeded Miami Heat. What followed was also shocking, with the Bucks unexpectedly firing longtime coach Mike Budenholzer.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was asked about the firing, to which his response wasn't that of shock, but of disappointment.

"My first response is not necessarily shock, it's more disappointment," Kerr said. "Bud is a fantastic coach, he just won a championship, and has been wildly successful in his coaching career. This is the business we're in. Raymond just told me three of the last four championship coaches have been fired. It happens quickly. Expectations for every team are so high, and only one team can win. It's sad news for the coaching profession. We all believe Bud deserved a lot better, but we're all aware this is the job we chose. We're all vulnerable."

It's very surreal to think that Steve Kerr is the only championship coach of the last four years that has not been fired after winning a championship. Frank Vogel, Nick Nurse, and Mike Budenholzer have all been fired within the last year, and only Kerr remains.

It's hard to say what exactly went into the decision of Budenholzer getting fired. The Milwaukee Bucks had no business losing to the Miami Heat, but they also just won a championship two seasons ago. It could have been a situation where coach Budenholzer may have lost the locker room after this year's collapse. Regardless, Steve Kerr's focus is on the playoffs and bringing the Warriors another championship.
