Unexpected Team Expected to Pursue Klay Thompson

A new team has entered the Klay Thompson chase.

One of the biggest targets for NBA teams this off-season is going to be Klay Thompson. Granted, this all depends on if he actually tests free agency this off-season, but teams are preparing as if he will.

According to a report from NBA insider Marc Stein, the Orlando Magic are becoming mentioned as a suitor for Klay Thompson should he test free agency. Here is the exact excerpt from his report.

"Orlando has been increasingly mentioned as a potential suitor for Klay Thompson in free agency. The Magic’s available cap space is difficult to project this far out. That figure could rise as high as $45 million but depends on their future plans with free agents-to-be Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris as well as Jonathan Isaac (whose $17.4 million salary next season is non-guaranteed)."

When it comes to the off-season of Klay Thompson, one thing every fan needs to realize is that it's all going to be conjecture until it actually happens. Every insider thought Draymond Green was going to test free agency and many predicted him to go to the Pistons, but none of that remotely came true. The Warriors' big three have been incredibly tight for a reason and are a rare trio that's never split apart. It remains to be seen what exactly Klay Thompson does, but everything should be taken with a grain of salt until he decides to actually publicly decide to test free agency.
