Warriors GM Gets Honest About Draymond Green's Future With Team
Serving his second suspension of the season, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will be out indefinitely while he works to meet league and team requirements to return to the court. Green's lack of availability has been a major issue to start the season, as this indefinite suspension comes just six games after he returned from a five-game suspension for choking Rudy Gobert.
While Green's behavior has once again become a distraction for the Warriors, general manager Mike Dunleavy told reporters on Thursday that the team is still committed to him.
"Yeah, I think so," Dunleavy said when asked if he still sees this as a longterm partnership with Green. "We're committed to him. He's been here a long time, he's hung a ton of banners and means so much to this organization. Like I said before, I think this about turning this thing into a positive and getting better. So I think if that happens then we feel really good, because his play has been terrific. It's just been his lack of availability that has not been great, and we wanna make that better."
While Green has been a major distraction for the Warriors this season, he has been very good when on the court. That said, the Warriors understand how much his lack of availability has hurt the team, but they remain committed to working through this.
