Warriors Make Major Starting Lineup Change vs. Clippers

The Golden State Warriors are benching Andrew Wiggins vs. the Clippers

The Golden State Warriors have been searching for different lineup combinations that will help turn their season around, and the latest adjustment was announced shortly before Thursday night's game against the LA Clippers.

Steve Kerr has submitted his starting lineup for this game, and Andrew Wiggins is being moved to the bench for Brandin Podziemski. Jonathan Kuminga is starting for the suspended Draymond Green.

Wiggins has been struggling mightily to start the season, but this is still a surprising change considering how long Kerr has stuck with his core group from that 2022 title run. This will be the first time in Wiggins' NBA career he has come off the bench in a regular season game. Wiggins did come off the bench in the postseason last year after missing an extended period of time, but this is the first time he has been moved to the bench because of his play.

While Wiggins' struggles have certainly contributed to this move, the play of Podziemski also helped force Kerr's hand. The rookie has been playing great for the Warriors, and they have been really good in his minutes. Looking to turn this season around, the Warriors had to try something new.

The Clippers will also feature a new starting five in this game, with Amir Coffey starting for the injured Paul George.
