Warriors Star Unexpectedly Ruled OUT vs Trail Blazers

For a second straight game, an important player has been ruled out.

For a second straight game, Andrew Wiggins will be unexpectedly ruled out for the Golden State Warriors due to an illness. Last night, it was against the Washington Wizards, and tonight, it'll be against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Even without Wiggins, the Warriors still comfortably beat the Washington Wizards by 11 points. For what it's worth, there definitely seems to be some kind of flu bug going around the NBA right now. Looking at the Western Conference, both Paul George and Norman Powell were listed with illness just this week. The severity of the illness depends on the player. Paul George missed a game, Norman Powell didn't, and Andrew Wiggins has missed two.

Fortunately for the Warriors, Brandin Podziemski has been upgraded to probable. With the amount of talent that the Warriors have available, they should be able to handle the Portland Trail Blazers. The biggest question mark for the Warriors will be the effort level because they're on the second night of a back-to-back. It's especially worth noting that the Portland Trail Blazers have given the Warriors are run for their money twice already this season.

If the Golden State Warriors can pull a win off tonight, they'll have a five-game winning streak, a winning record, and finally back into a play-in spot. For multiple reasons, this is a game the Warriors need to win.

The Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers face off at 8:30 p.m. EST tonight.
