How many excuses are people going to make up this week about the San Francisco 49ers?

Over and over again they are being regarded as fool's gold. That they "haven't played a good team yet". Well they just outright smothered the Los Angeles Rams in their week six 20-7 win to improve to 5-0 on the season. They bested a team that had four days extra to prepare, while they had only five.

They bested a team who has one of the best offensive innovators, yet they held them to only seven points. Jared Goff's passing output was mediocre. He only managed to throw for 78 yards after two straight games of lighting up the stat sheet and it was all thanks to elite talent of the 49ers' defensive line. The Rams could not get anything going and it was evident with Sean McVay's conservative play-calling.

Just take a look at what Ryan Clark of ESPN is already creating. Jimmy Garoppolo played a good game, yet he is being seen as an interchangeable player. This senselessness is why the masses are not seeing the 49ers as the real deal.

Let us not forget that the 49ers went into this game without both of their starting offensive tackles and fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Three players who are critical to so much of the blocking and production for the offense. And yet, they held their own against a defensive line led by Aaron Donald. The fact that the 49ers were successful on offense despite their losses just gives credence to the fact that Kyle Shanahan is better than Sean McVay.

Speaking of McVay, this was by far the worst regular season game of his head coaching career. The Rams did not convert on any of their third downs and couldn't muster anything on plays over 10+ yards. McVay did not have an answer for Robert Saleh and his defense, yet he is supposed to be a genius? Oh and he had four extra days to prepare.

When will the excuses end?

The narrative for this week will not be about the San Francisco 49ers being the real deal. That Kyle Shanahan is the better coach instead of Sean McVay. It is going to be about the Rams not being as good as everyone thought. The constant changing of the goal posts is quite hilarious to say the least.

As matter of fact, these excuses that are being created about the 49ers should continue because it will only fuel the team. Even Richard Sherman believes the doubters should keep the same stance they took about the team earlier in the season. It will be that much sweeter when they are stuck eating crow.

That is what is great about this team. They are not feeding into their own hype to allow themselves to get too high up. All of the players are hungry and are playing for one another. Every single time these players are being interviewed, they almost always reference their team chemistry. Clearly it is a big part of why they are all playing so cohesively.

The San Francisco 49ers are the real deal and the craziest part is that they still have not played their best football. The sky is the limit for the red and gold with their sights on the playoffs. Even at 5-0, they cannot afford a slip up since the Seattle Seahawks are matching them.

Take note of all the excuses being made this week about the 49ers. So many people forget that they too are missing so many of their key players, yet they never use it as an excuse. They just adjust and move on like a football team should. Week seven of the regular season has the 49ers heading to the nation's capital to take on the Redskins. Prepare for even more excuses if they win that game.
