Bengals Trade Idea Goes Out the Window Following Gigantic Panthers Extension
So much for that idea...
CINCINNATI — There's been plenty of Tee Higgins trade scenarios kicked around since the 25-year-old asked for a trade last month.
The Bengals plan on keeping Higgins, but one scenario that seemed about as realistic as hypothetic trades on social media can get was a Higgins for Derrick Brown swap.
That went out the window on Friday when the Panthers reportedly agreed to a four-year, $96 million extension with Carolina.
Brown had 103 tackles and two sacks last season. He's developed into one of the best interior linemen in the NFL.
Higgins is probably going to play for the Bengals this season and the 1% chance there was to send him to Carolina for Brown went out the window on Friday.
