Safety Dax Hill Ready to Build Status in Bengals' Secondary: 'There's Some Things I Need to Correct'
Hill is entering Year Three in Cincinnati.
CINCINNATI — Bengals safety Dax Hill is ready to embrace whatever changes the coaching staff wants to make in the secondary.
Hill went through an up-and-down second season in Cincinnati and caught up with the media on Monday following two free-agent safety additions.
"I feel like there's some things I need to correct," Hill said about his 2023 campaign. "And I'm looking forward to the new year."
Hill's aware he needs to keep adding to his game in the NFL. The safety finished with a 50.9 PFF grade last season after a 56 mark as a rookie.
"I knew I had to take a next step, you know, for this season," Hills said. "It's always good to look at the things you did last year and figure some things out. I feel like that's important to grow. So I guess the next step is right now, to be honest, start right now and be the best version of myself. That's what I try to put on day in and day out whatever guys call me to do, I'm gonna do that."
The Bengals coaching staff may move Hill into different spots, including more slot cornerback snaps in the upcoming season. All of it is part of a plan that they've kept Hill filled in on.
"They definitely did," Hill said about the front office keeping him in the loop. "And I appreciate that. Just having that conversation before things turned out. So really just hearing them out with why they did the things they did and really just still being myself."
