It didn't take long for the Bills to trade wide receiver Zay Jones after they saw the production they got from Duke Williams against Tennessee.

Jones, who was drafted in the second round (37th overall) by the Bills in 2017, was traded to the Raiders during Buffalo's bye week to for a fifth round draft pick.

After a week off, Bills head coach Sean McDermott shared his thought on the trade.

"Zay is a good player and a tremendous person," McDermott said. "We wish him the best and we know he is going to do good things out there in Oakland. And, sometimes a change of scenery is good."

Jones had struggled during the first five games of the season - with just seven receptions for 69 yards.

He only played one snap in his final game with the Bills against the Titans. Williams was promoted from the practice squad and made an immediate impact for Buffalo - scoring the game-winning touchdown in a 14-7 win.

During his three seasons in Buffalo, Jones amassed 1,037 yards on 90 receptions and caught nine touchdowns.

"I don't ever give up on someone," McDermott continued. "Whether he is on our team or not. I have always supported any player who has walked in our doors. Relationships are built and hopefully relationships continue and I will always be in Zay's corner."

Jones took to Twitter after the trade was made official to thank Buffalo fans and staff.

The Bills, who are sitting at an AFC wildcard best 4-1, host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at 1 P.M.
