As a team, the Denver Broncos have stuck their foot in the ground, and pivoted their 2019 season in an entirely new direction. Winners of two straight, the latest vanquished foe were the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee entered this game in Denver at 2-3 and left with two more losses in the standings than wins. Not only did the Titans lose, but they were also shut out by the Broncos.

We're finally starting to see the defense Vic Fangio envisioned when he took over as head coach come to fruition. The Broncos are smothering opponents, holding both the L.A. Chargers and the Titans to under 40 yards rushing, while taking the ball away in bunches.

The Broncos sacked the Titans' quarterbacks seven times, taking the ball away thrice. Meanwhile, Denver's offense did just enough to get out to and maintain a lead throughout this game.

But it was an uneven offensive performance and downright ugly at times. We're talking about an offense led by Joe Flacco that went 2-of-14 on third downs.

At least the Broncos punched it in for six on one of their two red-zone possessions, though. Silver lining. The Broncos are now 2-4.

There will be time yet for agonizing over the performance of the Broncos offense. Today, let's focus on the young players who've emerged as potential stars on the other side of the ball.

In the video above, I lay out the Broncos' five breakout performances on the defensive side of the ball. Who stood out most to you? Sound off in the comment section below!
