Keenan Allen Throws Shade At Chris Harris, Jr. Following Broncos' 20-13 Win Over Chargers
Chris Harris, Jr. might be living in Keenan Allen's head rent-free. After Allen was loathe to credit Harris and the Broncos following Denver's upset victory in L.A. last year, the Chargers' wideout once again threw shade following yet another home loss to their Division rival.
The 0-4 Broncos went into ROKiT Stadium and beat the Chargers 20-13 in Week 5 and the performance of Harris was a big reason why. Allen was completely shut down.
We're talking about a wideout who hauled in four catches on six targets for (wait for it) 18 yards. Despite his disappearing act in Week 5, Allen took to social media to clown Harris, only this time, Allen really looks a fool.
Allen's post on Instagram is less than a year removed from saying, after the Broncos beat the Chargers in their house, "They suck."
Let's quickly examine this 'jockstrap' issue Allen broaches. First, we'll examine the numbers and then the trophy case. Allen's been in the NFL since 2013 and he's never played a full 16-game schedule. Some might call him injury-prone.
Allen's tallied 458 receptions for 5,676 yards and 31 touchdowns, earning two Pro Bowl berths along the way. He's been a part of two playoff berths and two postseason wins.
Meanwhile, Harris entered the league as a college free agent in 2011, fought his way onto the roster and went on to become the best nickel corner in the league by 2014. In 2015, Harris helped the Broncos bring home the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl 50.
Since entering the league, Harris has 19 interceptions and 81 passes defensed to go along with 462 combined tackles (399 solo). His trophy case has four Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro nods and has been a part of four playoff victories and a World Championship.
Harris is the only active player with multiple interceptions in each of the last seven seasons. You do the math and weigh the two resumes.
Tell me again who should be carrying whose jockstrap? When it comes to his four-catch, 18-yard performance in Week 5, Keenan Allen would be wise to, as they say, charge it to the game.
