NFL Insider Reveals Broncos to Meet With LSU QB Jayden Daniels

The Denver Broncos continue to move through the scouting motions ahead of the NFL Draft.

The rumblings surrounding the Denver Broncos continue to pursue as we stand just a month away from the 2024 NFL Draft. As the team now enters a critical portion of the offseason calendar since moving through a bulk of free agency, we're starting to gain some increasing hints on what we can expect from this front office once their name is presented on the clock in April.

A collection of options remains on the table for what the Broncos may do, but the consensus revolves around bringing in a new quarterback to build with for the future. With Russell Wilson finally out of the picture, this Denver offense needs a new direction to pivot towards for the 2024 season, and it could lead off with a young, high-ceiling signal-caller being brought to the table.

Now, having the 12th-overall pick makes it a bit difficult to get their hands on one of the top guys in the class, but it hasn't stopped them from doing their due diligence to seek out and scout the best talent there is to offer. That's been made clear through the most recent development stemming from the Broncos that links them to LSU QB and Heisman winner: Jayden Daniels.

According to Chris Tomasson of Denver Gazette, Daniels will be meeting with the Broncos on Wednesday afternoon, headlined by the likes of Sean Payton and Davis Webb.

"Ron Butler, agent for LSU QB Jayden Daniels: “He’ll meet with [the Broncos] this afternoon. It’s more just spending some time with their group. I’m sure Sean Payton is here, Davis Webb. Their guys are down here and will spend some time.' Butler then said “for sure” Payton to meet with QB."

Daniels is coming off an electric season with the Tigers in 2023, posting 3,812 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and only four interceptions on the year. His stock has been increasingly rising as we approach closer to the looming draft date, with some projections having him going as high as second overall.

If the Broncos wanted a real shot at acquiring the services of Daniels, it would likely have to come from a blockbuster trade into the top three. While it would be a bold move to act on, it's one Coach Payton has seemingly yet to shut down. Recent reports from Ian Rapoport detail that Payton sees it as 'realistic' to trade up for a quarterback if that's how the night falls. As to who that player would eventually be, only time will tell.

The clock is winding down before Broncos Country gets their answers for what's to come in Denver, but it's safe to say that everything is still on the table to seek the next steps in the right direction for this franchise.
