The Denver Broncos made headlines on Friday morning as they made their long-awaited move to trade away 2020 first-round wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns for two draft picks, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

After months of speculation of what the long-term future looks like for Jeudy in the orange and blue, his four-year tenure finally came to an end in the beginning stages of this offseason.

However, it seems there were some other potential suitors in the market for Jeudy before the move was made to send him to the Browns. According to insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the New York Jets and New England Patriots were among "five or six" teams who investigated a move for the now-former Broncos pass catcher.

While the fifth and sixth round picks the Broncos got in return for Jeudy wasn't the most flashy, it seems there was no shortage of intrigue across the league.

The Jets and Patriots are both teams that could benefit from some upside and depth at the receiver position, so it makes sense as to why there was a potential fit. Instead, it was Cleveland who came in to acquire the former Alabama star.

The report of this substantial interest aligns with what we saw across this past season's trade deadline when multiple reports revealed a few teams connected to Jeudy before the Broncos opted not to pull the trigger on a deal. Now, Denver has ultimately decided to go a different direction and cashed in on a couple of day three selections.

Jeudy finished his 2023 campaign with Denver, totaling 54 receptions, 758 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in 16 games. The 2020 15th-overall pick has yet to finish a season with over 1,000 yards during his four years in the league, but a new situation in Cleveland could add some optimism for his future as a receiver in the NFL.

As for Denver, this move only adds to Sean Payton and George Paton's massive retooling underway within this roster. This, combined with the decisions to cut quarterback Russell Wilson and safety Justin Simmons marks the beginning of a new era in Broncos Country.
