The Cleveland Browns entered Labor Day with two spots left unfilled on the team's practice squad, went ahead and signed rookie offensive tackle from Missouri Paul Adams as well as third year running back Elijah McGuire, who spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets.

OT Paul Adams

Height: 6-5.875
Weight: 317 lbs
40 Yard Dash: 5.18s
Broad Jump: 8'7″
Vertical: 27
3-Cone: 7.68s
Shuttle: 4.74s
Bench: 16 bench reps

Adams has good size and movement skills, but needs to improve his strength and explosiveness at the position. He's just not very powerful in any of his testing, so he really needs to change his body over the course of the season if he's going to play on Sundays.

RB Elijah McGuire

Height: 5-9.75
Weight: 214 lbs
40 Yard Dash: 4.44s
Broad Jump: 10’
Vertical: 36
3-Cone: 7.26s
Shuttle: 4.56s
Bench: 15 bench reps

McGuire is a pretty good down hill athlete. He's short but thick with great explosion for the position. His agility on the other hand is lacking, which isn't a problem so long as he runs behind his pads.

What makes McGuire interesting is that he's played in 24 NFL games while the running back room on the Browns active roster has combined for a total of 27. McGuire is more stylistically similar to Nick Chubb than he is Dontrell Hilliard or D'Ernest Johnson, which is likely the reason he's on the practice squad.

If something were to happen to Chubb, they could bring up McGuire to give them a down hill, between the tackles style back. The problem is that in his two years with the Jets, he was averaging just 3.3 yards per carry on 180 carries.

The area where McGuire is pretty solid is the receiving game, catching 36 passes for 370 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
