New Orleans Saints Beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 23-13 FINAL

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to clinch the NFC South and a playoff berth with a win over the visiting New Orleans Saints.

PREGAME:

- Bucs Inactives: OLB Shaquil Barrett, CB Carlton Davis III, TE Ko Kieft, LB J.J. Russell, DL Deadrin Senat, OT Brandon Walton, QB John Wolford.

- Saints Inactives: CB Cameron Dantzler, DE Isiah Foskey, QB Jake Haener, S Lonnie Johnson Jr., RB Kendre Miller, LB Monty Rice

FIRST QUARTER:

- The Bucs won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. New Orleans will receive the ball first.

- Carr finds Johnson for a first down.

- Kamara breaks a tackle and gets another Saints first down 

- Carr finds Olave for another Saints’ first down. 

- Williams takes back-to-back carries for a first down.

- Kamara will a couple good runs inside the Bucs 5 yard line.

- Carr finds Johnson for a touchdown. Saints take the lead 7-0.

- White is taken down behind the 3rd down marker and the Bucs are forced to punt.

- Kamara finds 5 on a run then catches a pass for 3 yards.

- Bucs get the stop on third down and the Saints will punt.

- Baker is sacked on third down but are called for a 15 yard penalty on a face mask and the Bucs get a first down.

- Mayfield finds Evans for a gain of 32 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield finds White underneath but the ball is coming back due to an illegal man down field.

- Mayfield finds Moore short of a first down, but illegal contact on the Saints gives the Bucs a first down.

- Mayfield looks deep to Palmer, but is intercepted by Taylor. Saints will take over in their own territory.

- At the end of 1, the Saints lead the Bucs 7-0

SECOND QUARTER:

- Carr finds Johnson and give up a big 32 yards for a Saints’ first down.

- Kamara keeps pushing and finds 11.

- Carr flips it out of bounds on third down and the Saints will punt.

- Bucs can’t convert on third down and will punt.

- Carr finds Johnson for a gain of 12 yards.

- Saints get another first down with a pass and catch from Carr to Moreau.

- Carr finds Johnson for another first down. Saints getting TEs involved early.

- Carr floats one to Hill for a TD. Saints extend their lead 14-0.

- Baker is sacked on third down and the Bucs will once again punt.

- Carr finds Shaheed for a Saints first down.

- Carr’s third down pass is incomplete and the Saints will attempt a FG.

- Grupe’s 45-yard attempt is good and the Saints extend their lead over the Bucs 17-0.

- At the end of the half, the Saints lead the Bucs 17-0.

THIRD QUARTER:

- Baker’s third down pass is incomplete to Mike Evans on the opening drive, and the Bucs will punt.

- Buccaneers are able to get a third down stop on New Orleans and the Saints will punt.

- Holding call on Goedeke brings the ball back ten yards for the Bucs.

- Mayfield finds White to get almost half of the penalty back.

- On third and long, Mayfield’s pass is complete to Trey Palmer for a Bucs’ first down.

- Edmonds finds some room on the outside for another Bucs’ first down.

- White finds some space, but he fumbles the ball and the Saints recover.

- Carr finds Olave for a gain of 14 yards and another Saints first down.

- Alvin Kamara is questionable to return with an ankle injury.

- Jamal Williams catches the ball and gets the Saints’ first down. The Bucs are also called for a horse collar tackle adding onto the Saints’ gain.

- Carr finds Williams on the screen, but the Bucs are able to get the stop and force a FG.

- Grupe’s 28-yard FG is good and the Saints lead over the Bucs extends to 20-0.

- Baker finds Godwin for a gain of 18 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield is almost sacked, but he finds White out of the backfield for a modest gain.

- Mayfield is then sacked by Breese for a loss on the play. It will be third and long for the Bucs.

- Baker’s third down pass goes to White who only gains a few yards on the play forcing a fourth down. Bucs will punt.

- At the end of the third, the Bucs trail the Saints 20-0.

FOURTH QUARTER:

- Saints third down pass from Carr to Johnson is complete for a first down.

- Bucs get a stop on third down and the Saints will be forced to punt.

- Baker finds Cade Otton for a Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield finds Edmonds out of the backfield and he finds a crease for a first down.

- Mayfield looks at the first down marker, but the ball is intercepted by the Saints.

- Saints third down is no good and the Bucs will get the ball back following the Saints’ punt.

- Baker finds Mike Evans for a large gain of 35 yards and a Bucs’ first down.

- Baker finds Edmonds out of the backfield for another Bucs’ first down.

- Mayfield back to the air again, but his ball is batted down at the line.

- Baker hits White out of the backfield on third down, but he is short of the line to gain and the Bucs will go for it on fourth down.

- Baker’s fourth down pass is complete to Godwin for first down.

- Mayfield takes a shot to the end zone and Trey Palmer comes away with it. McLaughlin’s extra point is good and the Bucs cut the lead to 20-7.

- Carr finds Johnson once again for another Saints’ first down.

- Williams finds a big hole and the Saints have another first down and are now in FG range.

- Saints hand it off to their full back on third and long and he is able to pick up the first down..

- Carr hands off to Williams who is short by a yard on third down.

- The Saints will attempt a FG to extend their lead and likely ice this this one with under four minutes remaining in the game.

- Grupe’s 38-yard yard FG is good and the Bucs now trail the Saints 23-7.

- Baker finds Palmer for a huge gain, but he coughs the ball up at the end of the play before getting touched and the Saints recover and will seal this one up.

- Bucs get a stop on third down and the Saints will punt.

- Baker takes a shot and finds Chris Godwin for a BIG touchdown pass and the Bucs cut into the lead.

- Bucs go for two, but Mayfield’s pass is intercepted ultimately ending this one. Bucs trail the Saints 23-13.

- The Saints kneel this one out following the failed onside kick from the Bucs.

- Saints keep their playoff hopes alive, while the Bucs fail to clinch the NFC South.
