Report: Cardinals Could Bring Top WR Back

Marquise Brown could indeed return to the Arizona Cardinals.

ARIZONA -- Though the Arizona Cardinals don't have many key free agents, the status of wide receiver Marquise Brown has been worth monitoring as the Oklahoma product looks to hit the open market next week.

After initially being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, the Cardinals acquired Brown on a draft-night trade two years ago. With hopes of forming a dynamic duo with DeAndre Hopkins, Arizona took a massive swing on the wideout position.

Thus far, they've missed. Brown - for reasons including injuries, production and just overall status of the team - has failed to emerge in the light former Cardinals GM Steve Keim viewed him in, though that doesn't mean Arizona's new regime won't look to bring him back.

According to NBC Sports' Matthew Berry, the Cardinals could look to bring Brown back on a one-year deal:

“If Marvin Harrison Jr. is there at 4 when the Cardinals pick, they are absolutely taking him," one source told Berry. "I was also told don’t be surprised if the Cards bring back Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown on a one-year deal."

Expectations are wildly across the board for what Brown could get on the open market. Spotrac has his estimated annual market value at just under $15 million per season while Pro Football Focus projects him to receive a one-year, $12 million deal.

Brown previously carried contract negotiations into the 2023 season but nothing came to fruition.

A one-year deal for Brown might be ideal for both sides, as Arizona could retain one of Kyler Murray's favorite targets while Brown would get another chance at improving his numbers and potentially cashing out next offseason.

Free agency is slated to begin on March 11, and the Cardinals have over $50 million in cap space to work with.

If Brown doesn't return, where would he end up?
