Cardinals Officially Announce Kyler Murray as Starter

The Arizona Cardinals make it officially, official.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals will indeed be starting quarterback Kyler Murray against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.

"I'm excited for the guy," Gannon told reporters.

This will be Murray's first game back since tearing his ACL/meniscus on Monday Night Football during Week 14 of last season. He began the season on the PUP list and has practiced the last three weeks before officially being activated on Tuesday.

Murray has been sidelined during the team's 1-8 start to the season that has seen both Joshua Dobbs and Clayton Tune in the saddle. As of now, the Cardinals are slated to pick atop the 2024 NFL Draft.

There's been plenty of questions surrounding Murray's future in Arizona, though the second half of the season will yield plenty of opportunity for him to show the new regime he's still the guy he was prior to the major injury.

"I've seen a lot of people - Budda [Baker] and D.J. [Humphries] and all the quotes about how it's been night and day, complete 180 shift and stuff like that. I would agree," Murray told reporters earlier this week.

Coming off such a significant injury, Cardinals fans may need to temper expectations on Murray's immediate ability to play, though Gannon insists there will be no limitations on the former Heisman winner.

Cardinals-Falcons is set to begin Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2:05 PM Arizona Time.
