Cardinals Sign 12 Players to Future Contracts

The Arizona Cardinals will retain the following 12 players heading into 2024.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals announced the following 12 players were signed to future contracts after the conclusion of their 2023 season:

  • Wide receiver Andre Baccellia
  • Offensive lineman Jackson Barton
  • Wide receiver Kaden Davis
  • Offensive lineman Marquis Hayes
  • Running back Tony Jones
  • Tight end Bernhard Seikovits
  • Wide receiver Jeff Smith
  • Cornerback Quavian White
  • Wide receiver Daniel Arias
  • Cornerback Darren Hall
  • Safety Verone McKinley III
  • Offensive lineman Austen Pleasants

Future contracts are reserved for players not on a team's active roster at the end of a season. Depending on accrued years of service, contracts are typically paid out on minimum salary.

Hall was the only player on the list to not have been on Arizona's practice squad this past season. More info on him via the team's official press release:

"Hall played 31 games (10 starts) with Atlanta between 2021-22 and spent this season on the Colts practice squad. With the Falcons, Hall had 69 tackles (47 solo), three tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, six passes defensed, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three special teams tackles. He was originally selected by Atlanta in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of San Diego State."

The Cardinals went just 4-13 in the first year of a rebuild under new head coach Jonathan Gannon and Monti Ossenfort.

There's hope with ample draft capital and cap space, Arizona can push themselves to new heights in 2024.

“On all three phases I want everything to get drastically better. I want the offense to get drastically better. I’m pleased with where they’re at, but I want to be able to do things at a higher level," Gannon said.

"Everything that we’re doing situationally that we’ve got to do better at, that falls on me. Mixed downs, pass downs—all that stuff. Operation, use of personnel packages—everything. We’ll take a critical eye at everything."
