Bears TE Cole Kmet Doubtful to Return vs Cardinals

The Chicago Bears aren't likely to see Cole Kmet return due to injury.

ARIZONA -- The Chicago Bears currently hold a 21-10 advantage over the Arizona Cardinals, though sailing might not be as smooth after potentially losing one of their top weapons.

Bears TE Cole Kmet went into the locker room with four receptions for over 100 yards, though he's now considered doubtful to return after injuring his knee.

More info from the Chicago Sun-Times:

"Kmet was treated in the blue injury tent late in the second quarter, then ran on the sidelines for a minute and gave Bears trainers a thumbs-up. He returned to play. During halftime, though, the Bears announced he was questionable to return, then downgraded him to doubtful. He did not take the field with his teammates."

The Bears previously lost WR DJ Moore to an ankle injury, though he did return to action before halftime.

Chicago backup tight end Mercedes Lewis caught his first touchdown of the season for the Bears in the first half. Lewis is in his 18th season and that score saw Chicago string together three consecutive touchdown drives for the first time since Week 4.

Kmet was initially questionable heading into Week 16 vs Arizona with a quad injury. He had 66 receptions for 571 yards and six touchdowns entering today.
