Report: Cardinals Re-Signing Defensive End

The Arizona Cardinals are bringing back defensive end L.J. Collier according to reports.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are re-signing defensive end L.J. Collier on a one-year deal, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

"The #AZCardinals are signing former first-round DE LJ Collier back on a 1-year deal, per his agent Scott Casterline: 'He's excited to be a Cardinal.'

"Collier impressed in camp before an early-season injury. Running it back this year."

Financial terms have yet to be disclosed.

Collier- 28-years-old - signed with Arizona last offseason after entering the NFL as a first-round pick in 2019. Collier spent his first four seasons with NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks.

Collier has battled the injury bug for most of his career, and that was again the case with Arizona after landing on injured reserve after playing just one game for the Cardinals due to a biceps injury.

Collier has recorded just three career sacks in 46 games with 26 solo tackles.

Arizona's defensive line needs upgrades either in free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft, and perhaps a healthy Collier can improve the Cardinals' overall defensive play.

Collier wasn't the only defensive player to land on injured reserve in 2023, as names such as Budda Baker and Kyzir White also spent time on the list.

He joins players such as Greg Dortch, Jessee Luketa and Carter O'Donnell who have already re-joined the Cardinals for 2024.
