Chargers Interested in Former AFC West Rival WR

With the lack of weapons in the Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver room, the team has been on the lookout for more help. The front office is planning on using the upcoming NFL Draft to replenish the talent on the offensive side of the ball, but they could also use another veteran pass-catcher as well.

The Bolts are reportedly interested in bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling. Valdez-Scantling would bring plenty of winning experience with him to the team, after having helped Kansas City win two Super Bowls.

If the Bolts do bring in Valdez-Scantling, it could be a good addition for quarterback Justin Herbert. While Valdez-Scantling isn't a player who will instantly bolster this wide receiver room, he could provide solid depth to a team that desperately needs it.

Last season with the Chiefs, Valdez-Scantling had 21 catches for 315 yards and one touchdown. He hasn't lit up any scoreboards over the last few years, but he has come up massive in the postseason for Kansas City.

Last year, he caught six catches for 116 yards and one touchdown in the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He also caught a touchdown in the Super Bowl this year against the San Francisco 49ers and posted 62 yards against the Buffalo Bills earlier in the playoffs.

This could be a quality signing for the Bolts and it wouldn't likely cost them very much either. Los Angeles needs to bring in players like Valdez-Scantling for this next season, if anything to help them make their way back to a place of contention.
