Former Chargers QB Believes LA Will Draft Michigan Offensive Star If Available

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh will have the opportunity to draft plenty of his former players in his first draft with the Bolts. Harbaugh's former school, Michigan, had 18 players invited to the combine, showcasing the amount of talent coming from his former program that will be in this draft.

Given Harbaugh's familiarity with these players and how well they performed under him at Michigan, it would be unsurprising to see Harbaugh draft one or multiple of them to the Chargers.

Of these Michigan prospects, former Chargers quarterback Chase Daniel believes that Harbaugh would certainly select former Michigan running back Blake Corum if he is available when the Chargers are on the clock in the second round.

Daniel reposted a video of Corum working out on Twitter, saying, "If Blake Corum is around in Round 2….you know what’s gonna happen Chargers fans."

If Corum is available, he would be a great player for the Chargers to pick up. Corum was one of the most productive running backs in college and an absolute touchdown machine. During his final season with Michigan, Corum ran for 1,245 yards and 27 touchdowns on 285 carries. 27 touchdowns. He had ten games with multiple rushing touchdowns.

This was his second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing season after rushing for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns his junior season. His rushing was so impactful that Corum was the National Championship game MVP, the Big Ten MVP in 2022 and the Big Ten Running Back of the Year in his final two seasons in college.

Though the Chargers brought in former Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards during free agency on a two-year deal, they could definitely use another rusher in the backfield. The Greg Roman offense is known for its run game, and bringing in a back like Corum, who has been the driving force for an offense before, would provide a great fit for Roman's offense
