J.K. Dobbins Promises Explosive Return for Chargers This Season

The Los Angeles Chargers brought in another key player, signing former Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins this week to a one-year deal. Dobbins reunites with former teammate, Gus Edwards, who signed with the Chargers earlier this offseason on a two-year deal. He also reunites with former Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman and former director of player personnel Joe Hortiz.

Shortly after joining the Chargers, Dobbins posted a video of one of his best highlights with the Ravens, saying, "You’re getting this JK bolt fam… I promise."

Dobbins showed a ton of promise and had a couple strong seasons with the Ravens, but is also coming off of a torn Achilles injury. Dobbins got injured in Week 1, missing practically the entire 2023 NFL season. This was the second major injury of his career, missing the entire 2021 season with a torn ACL that he sustained in the preseason.

Before this Achilles injury, Dobbins rushed for 520 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 5.7 yards per carry during eight games. His rookie season still remains the best of his pro career. During that season, Dobbins rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging six yards per carry.

It won't be easy for Dobbins to come back from another major leg injury, but he appears determined to do so for the Chargers. He most likely will be splitting time in the backfield with former teammate Edwards.
