Chargers News: ESPN Expert Identifies Second Round Wide Receiver Options For LA

The Los Angeles Chargers have a variety of options awaiting them in this month's NFL draft. After finishing 5-12 last season under two head coaches (Brandon Staley and interim head coach Giff Smith) and two general managers (Tom Telesco and interim GM JoJo Wooden), LA has rebranded with a new tandem of decision makers at the helm in new head coach Jim Harbaugh and new general manager Joe Hortiz.

They'll have their work cut out for them this year. LA ditched its top two wide receivers, six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen (now with the Chicago Bears) and Mike Williams (now with the Washington Commanders), and will now look to the draft to shore up its depth around Pro Bowl quarterback Justin Herbert.

Eric Smith of Chargers.com spoke with ESPN's Jordan Reid about how the Bolts could build out their wideouts beyond the first round of the draft. Reid laid out his favorite second round receiver prospects.

"There's quite a few guys," Reid told Smith. "Xavier Legette of South Carolina is one I like quite a bit. I have him graded early in the second round right now. Saw him at his Pro Day and he looked the part. Really strong build at 6-1 and 223 pounds. Another is Ladd McConkey from Georgia, who is one of the better route runners overall. He just understands how to get open and is really good at creating separation. Strong hands, too."
