Chargers Rumors: Bolts Insider Urges Pursuit of All-Pro WR Ahead of Trade Deadline

Could the Chargers bolster their wideout room at the trade deadline?

The NFL trade deadline is approaching on October 31st and surprisingly, even with a 2-4 record, the Chargers may be buyers.

The Chargers lost Mike Williams early in the season with a torn ACL and the wide receiver room as a whole has taken a hit, especially with first-round rookie Quentin Johnston only having 7 catches on the year.

This Bolts insider thinks the trade of an experienced veteran may be in the cards for the Chargers.

"DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Tennessee Titans

With Mike Williams out for the season with a torn ACL, they are in need of a true X receiver who can line up isolated in the formation and win in contested-catch situations. Hopkins fits that mold perfectly. The Chargers did just draft a receiver in the first round in Quentin Johnston, but his game is very different than Williams’ game. Efforts to plug Johnston into Williams’ role have not really worked over the past three games. Hopkins signed a two-year deal with the Titans in July. He does not have any guaranteed money left on his deal, according to Over the Cap. The Titans are 2-4. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is dealing with an ankle injury. Tennessee could be heading for a rebuild."

Hopkins would be a great pairing with Keenan Allen as both route technicians are still finding success in their veteran years.

Hopkins on the year has 27 receptions for 376 yards and zero touchdowns.

There have already been rumors that Hopkins is not too happy with the quarterback play and overall team play from the Titans this year so the team could definitely look to ship off the newcomer if a package is put together for him.

Hopkins signed a 2-year deal with the Titans this offseason after being released by the Cardinals but a trade consisting of a mid-round pick could persuade the Titans, who may be looking to start a rebuild on offense.
