During a press conference appearance today, former Baltimore Ravens running back Gus Edwards explained what intrigued him about his new team, the Los Angeles Chargers. James Brizuela of Charger Report shares the quote via X:

Some of that coaching staff under new head coach Jim Harbaugh is particularly familiar to Edwards, especially on the offensive side of the field. Most notably, offensive coordinator Greg Roman (who had the same gig with Baltimore from 2019-22, leading the team to the league's best-ranked rushing offense at 175.2 yards per bout during that tenure), run game coordinator and tight ends coach Andy Bischoff (who served in several offensive coaching capacities with the Ravens from 2015-20), and offensive line coach Mike Devlin (who was the assistant O-line coach from 2022-23 with Baltimore) all served with the Ravens under John Harbaugh, Jim's older brother.

Harbaugh is bringing in plenty of former Wolverines head coaches to help out, too, mostly on the other end. That group includes defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale, defensive line coach Mike Elston, senior defensive analyst Rick Minter, and defensive assistant Dylan Roney.

Edwards inked a two-year, $6.5 million deal with the Chargers this offseason. The 28-year-old Rutgers product enjoyed a stellar run with Baltimore last year. In 17 games (nine starts), he rushed for 810 yards on 198 attempts, scoring 13 touchdowns. He also caught 12 receptions for a total of 180 receiving yards.
