Chargers News: Keenan Allen Backs Justin Herbert's Clutch Play Amid Criticism

He's got his QB's back.
In this story:

Your Los Angeles Chargers once again failed to seal the deal in a close game Monday night after another failed two-minute drill that's become all too familiar for the LA faithful in recent seasons.

Many fans are now questioning quarterback Justin Herbert's ability to execute in late-game situations after yet another failed week to do so.

Veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen quickly shut down these critics with a simple post-game response.

The duo linked up for seven completions and 85 yards but two plays in particular will ring in the minds of Charger fans all week long.

Allen dropped Cowboys corner Daron Bland with a nasty route and had daylight in front of him if Herbert threw him a good ball.

The former Duck launched an overthrow above Allen's head that he couldn't catch even if he was eight feet tall.

Of Herbert's 15 incompletions on the night that missed shot to Allen that could have scored a critical touchdown will haunt the entire team for Week 7.

Herbert's last incompletion effectively ended the game after he had the chance to win the game much like he did in Weeks 1 and 2.

On a 3rd down and 10, Dallas' pass rush that forced plenty of pressure and holding penalties all night long got into Herbert's face and forced a poor throw.

Veteran corner Stephon Gilmore got the last laugh after a tough night against Allen in man coverage as his interception sealed the game against LA who had no timeouts remaining.

Allen may have been quick to defend his signal-caller but with another failed opportunity in a familiar scenario, many are beginning to wonder if Herbert was worth the money LA spent on his services this offseason.
