Chargers News: Why Adam Schefter Considers LA Top Draft-Day Trade Candidate

Will the Los Angeles Chargers stay with their current nine picks in this years draft, or keep accruing more?

ESPN's Adam Schefter recently posited that the Bolts number among the clubs in the top 10 of next year's draft that seem likeliest to make a trade, presumably for more assets, along with the Arizona Cardinals (who have a top pick but already seem to have their quarterback of the future in Kyle Murray) and, well, everyone in the top 10, actually. We'll let him explain.

"I think the Cardinals are a great trade candidate, I think the Chargers are a great trade candidate. I think all these teams in the top 10, Kevin, will have their phone ring, and it'll just be a question of who's willing to go back," Schefter said. "The Chargers make as much sense as anybody, but I can make arguments for all the other teams around them."

The Chargers need help at pretty much every position outside of quarterback. They moved on from their top two wide receivers, six-time Pro Bowl wideout Keenan Allen and non-Pro Bowl wideout Mike Williams, and their best running back, Austin Ekeler. Their best defenders, Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa, are either old (Mack) or injury-prone (Bosa). Beyond Justin Herbert himself, Los Angeles could use help everywhere.
