Chiefs vs. Eagles Super Bowl LVII Inactives: Who's In, Who's Out?

Here's who Kansas City and Philadelphia will be entering the Super Bowl without.

Everything is on the line for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, as both teams have been building to this moment for months.

For Kansas City, their action-packed offseason saw general manager Brett Veach trade superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill and subsequently retool the receiver room in his absence. Additionally, multiple changes on the defensive side of the ball led to a high reliance on veteran newcomers and rookies alike. A 14-3 regular season ensued, and the Chiefs are back in their third Super Bowl in four years with a chance to secure ring No. 2 in that span.

For Philadelphia, executive vice president and general manager Howie Roseman has constructed arguably the NFL's most complete and talented roster from top to bottom. Coming off a 9-8 season and a trip to the Wild Card round of the postseason, the Eagles rallied around young quarterback Jalen Hurts and also went 14-3 this season. After a dominant stretch of defensive play in this year's playoffs, head coach Nick Sirianni and company are looking to win this Super Bowl as the favorites.

Neither squad is 100% at this point in the season, although neither team's injury report from this week was alarming. The Chiefs didn't have any injury designations for Super Bowl Sunday, and the Eagles had just one player listed as questionable. All things considered, availability for both sides is in a decent spot heading into the biggest game of the year.

With that said, ahead of their final game of the 2022-23 season, the Chiefs' last list of inactive players has been released:

There are some usual suspects on the Chiefs' inactives list, including quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive ends Joshua Kaindoh and Malik Herring, tackle Darian Kinnard and center Austin Reiter. Elsewhere, however, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and tight end Blake Bell could be viewed as minor surprises.

Edwards-Helaire was added back to the 53-man roster earlier this week when receiver Mecole Hardman went on the injured reserve list, but the 2020 first-round pick is a healthy scratch for the team's most important game of the season. Bell, arguably the best blocker among the Chiefs' tight ends, is out. That doesn't leave Kansas City with a great deal of depth, but the trio of Travis Kelce, Jody Fortson and Noah Gray should manage.

The Eagles' inactives have also been released:

Philadelphia's lone questionable player for Super Bowl LVII was wide receiver and return specialist Britain Covey, but the veteran is a full-go despite being limited in practice this week with a hamstring injury. Punter Brett Kern is inactive, but 30-year-old Arryn Siposs is back in his spot after not having played since Dec. 11. All other inactives were mostly expected calls for the Eagles.
