Caleb Williams Trade Cost for Commanders Revealed

The Washington Commanders could stick at No. 2, trade back, or even trade up in the NFL Draft - for the right cost.

INDIANAPOLIS -- A lot of the conversations around the NFL Scouting Combine floor surrounds what the Chicago Bears are doing at quarterback and with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and of course, that makes a big impact on what the Washington Commanders might do at No. 2.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles has gone on the record to say that taking care of current quarterback Justin Fields is a priority in a trade, but that swapping the No. 1 pick with a team like the Commanders is also not out of the question.

That fact brings up an interesting proposition for Washington as it may have a window to jump up one spot and grab the quarterback of their NFL Draft dreams. So, what would it cost?

According to a projected trade idea presented by NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, it would take the following package.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS GET: No. 1 Overall Pick, 2024 NFL Draft

CHICAGO BEARS GET: Nos. 2, 67, 138, 2024 NFL Draft and 1st Round Pick, 2025 NFL Draft

“It’s familiar, it’s hometown…it’d be really cool to be back there," USC quarterback Caleb Williams said about the idea of returning to the DMV with the Washington Commanders. "The meeting went really well. Everybody was in the room so being around everybody and getting a taste of who they are…”

We can presume from other meetings that coach Dan Quinn was in the meeting with Williams along with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and quarterbacks coach Tavita Pritchard.

Quinn certainly knows Williams, but Kingsbury has direct knowledge of the prospect from coaching him for one year as an advisor on the USC staff.
