Kansas City Chiefs Ex Nick Allegretti Fits Washington Commanders New O-Line

The Washington Commanders could make Nick Allegretti a huge part of their offensive line.

When the Washington Commanders signed Nick Allegretti from the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency, they knew they were getting a really tough player, which is arguably the biggest trait needed for the new offensive line the team is trying to build.

Allegretti's toughness is without question after learning he played most of Super Bowl LVIII for the Chiefs with a torn UCL in his elbow. And turning on the film his aggressive play can't be questioned either.

Often times you'll see Allegretti taking on some of the NFL's best like Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike one-on-one and while he may not take down the massive lineman he isn't giving up much in terms of real estate either.

In the open field, Allegretti's tenacity really shows up as he's always looking for work, someone to hit, and will do so until the last echo of the whistle is heard in the stadium.

His size and willingness to let rushers get into his body a bit will push him back in the pocket at times but his aggressive style of play is clearly something that fits with what this new regime is preaching.

The Commanders hope Allegretti's toughness and big game experience can help turn around a unit that was one of the NFL's worst in 2023.
