The Washington Commanders continue to add to their offensive line.

The team announced on Monday afternoon that it had signed former Houston Texans center Michael Deiter.

Before coming to the Texans, Dieter spent five years with the Miami Dolphins, establishing himself as a reliable presence on the team's offensive line, earning frequent starting roles.

His experience and leadership could help the Commanders as they rebuild their offensive line.

Deiter stands out as a seasoned veteran capable of making an immediate impact on the gridiron.

Over the course of his career, Deiter has made 33 starts in 73 games, including 10 games last season with the Texans. With Tyler Biadasz likely to start at center, Deiter could compete for a starting guard job alongside fellow free agent signee Nick Allegretti. The team could also start Deiter and Allegretti at the guard spots and move Sam Cosmi out to tackle.

It's uncertain exactly where Deiter will wind up on Washington's offensive line, but adding him gives the Commanders an additional option to move around in hopes of getting the best five players to protect whichever rookie franchise quarterback the team takes in next month's NFL Draft.
