The Washington Redskins are getting ready to begin their season without the help of stalwart left tackle Trent Williams. Donald Penn, 36, has been brought out of involuntary retirement to fill that voide. Right tackle Brandon Scherff has yet to see a contract extension and is playing on the fifth-year option. If all of that weren't bad enough, somehow the competition for starting left guard ended with draft bust tackle-turned-guard Ereck Flowers winning.

It's safe to surmise Washington could use an infusion of talent.

While Washington has some money to spend in free agency next year, the likely course of action to correct the line issues would be to draft well. As such, Draft Wire's Luke Easterling addressed the problem in his latest, two-round 2020 mock draft.

With the No. 2 overall selection, Washington selected Georgia tackle Andrew Thomas.

The biggest takeaway here may be Easterling's prediction that Washington will be so high in the draft order, as the second-worst team in the NFL in 2019. Although he ran a two-round simulation, the Redskins of course traded away their 2020 second rounder to move up and select Montez Sweat.
