Week 3 is in full swing and the Washington Redskins are making preparations for a Monday Night Football match-up with the Chicago Bears. The Bears roll into town with one of the league's best defenses, giving up just 292.5 yards/game through two weeks. The good news for the Redskins is, the Bears offense is awful, and theirs isn't. The Redskins have come out firing, especially through the air, where rookie Terry McLaurin is separating himself as the Redskins clear No. 1 wide receiver, and a candidate for offensive rookie of the year.

While McLaurin is lighting up, the bottom of the roster has been a fluid situation the last two weeks. That continued Tuesday night into Wednesday as the Redskins added Noah Spence and and placed Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the injured reserve. The veteran corner-back is a candidate to return later in the season, but one of those two return trips is reserved for Derrius Guice. The team will have to be precise with who they pick for the second seat.

The Redskins hosted their annual 4th & Life Forum with high school football players from around the great D.C. area. The day is designed as an opportunity for the young crowd to learn from NFL players about positive life habits and conducting themselves off the field.

"This forum is really about you. It's about helping you prepare for those decisions that you'll make," said Thrash, who noted that he lived with a dysfunctional family as a child. "I wish I had something like this to help me with those issues off the field."

Ereck Flowers knows he has a long way to go, but with Redskins, he's enjoying football again :: Washington Post

Flowers' career hasn't been a whole-lot of fun up to this point. The Miami (FL) product was drafted by the Giants No. 9 overall in 2015 to be their left tackle, with the potential to grow into a franchise stalwart. Instead, he struggled early and often, to the extent that he was available on the cheap for the Redskins this summer. With a move in to guard, and a separation from the expectations of his draft slot, Flowers is finally...flowering.

Redskins place CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on injured reserve :: FanSided

Rodgers-Cromartie was limping noticeably throughout much of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, staying in despite an obvious injury. With the Redskins low on defensive backs, surely his coaches and teammates appreciated it. With the Tuesday signing of Noah Spence, the Redskins needed a roster spot, and Rodgers-Cromartie to the IR was the move they chose.

With Jonathan Allen still ailing the Redskins have chosen to bring in edge rusher Spence to maintain their defensive line depth. While Spence is purely an EDGE, his addition ensures that others can rotate. Once Allen returns it wouldn't be surprising to see Spence gone to make way for depth elsewhere, hopefully the return of Trent Williams.

Case Keenum, Christ Thompson and Adrian Peterson all rank as players that deserve a roster spot on your fantasy team, especially Peterson, but the current gem of the Redskins roster is Terry McLaurin. The team clearly emphasized getting the ball to the rookie on Sunday, including a downfield shot to him on the first play from scrimmage.

Here's a breakdown of McLaurin's top-notch rout-running from Pro Football Focus.

Redskins first 15 plays efficiency :: Pro Football Focus

The Redskins have come out hot against both the Eagles and the Cowboys in their first two games. Translation: the scripted passing plays have been great, but the play-calling hasn't been able to react or adjust to the defensive game plan after that.

Jay Gruden Redskins Presser: The Bears don’t have any weaknesses in their defense :: Hogs Haven

The Bears are coming to town, and their defense looks downright scary. The Redskins have a couple slices of good news as the prepare; the game is on Monday night giving Jay Gruden and crew an extra night to prep, and the sheer fact that the Redskins offense has been pretty good this year. While the Bears' D will be a tough egg to crack, the Redskins can expect to give as good as they get to the Bears' lowly offense.
