The Washington Redskins get the added benefit of an extra day to prepare for the Chicago Bears, and Jonathan Allen is taking full advantage of it. The Redskins versatile defensive lineman intends to play on Monday Night Football, and he'll be more than welcome as the Bears ball-control offense begs for line of scrimmage dominance.

Alongside Allen's return, Josh Norman and Jay Gruden intend to have the back-end of the defense back on the attack, doing their part to help the team win ballgames. Fortunately they won't have to face off against Antonio Brown Week 5, as the Patriots released him on Friday. Norman admits the secondary's mediocrity, and won't stand for it. The Redskins do stand for their community, and hosted their fourth annual Redskins Runway Show on Friday night.

Week 3 EPA Ranks: Penalties like DPI are changing the NFL, can it be exploited? :: Redskin Maven

A thought that's occurred to many fans over the years, "why not try to draw a pass interference more often?" In college it's just a 15 yard penalty, but in the NFL it's a spot foul, and with the way rules are being changed and officials seem to be flag-happy, could the theory really work on gameday?

"This begs the question: is it possible to game plan, to a certain extent, your offense around maximizing pass interference penalties? Obviously you can't bank on playing for DPI on every single play, it just won't work. But I do wonder if there are certain teams or players who draw these penalties more often than others."

In case you were sleeping, Brown is out in New England after just 11 days. Fortunately for the Redskins, they won't have to face off against the all-pro, unfortunately they're still the Patriots. As Andy Benoit of SI put it, "The  Patriots just went from being the Super Bowl favorites to being the Super Bowl favorites."

Allen has been injured throughout the last two weeks, and had looked as though he wasn't going to be playing on Monday night, but if you ask Allen himself, it appears that he's planning to go. This would be clear boost to Redskins defensive line that is set to squar off against the run-heavy Bears offense.

Redskins - Bears Friday Injury Report :: John Keim

The biggest development of the Friday practice report is Jonathan Allen's 'Limited' label. The Redskins will have an extra day to prepare for the Bears, and that might just be enough to give Allen the extra boost to play.

Gruden is fighting for his job in 2019, and it would seem he's taking the term fighting quite literally, amping up the juice behind his speech, both with the team and with the media. Gruden has been noticeably more animated than in years past.

The Redskins have been hit hard in the secondary this year, most recently losing corner back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to the injured reserve. Vocal leader of the group, Josh Norman didn't shy away from the unit's poor play on Thursday, but with the Bears' lowly passing game rolling into Landover on Monday, the antidote may be here.

"I didn’t think it would’ve came and hit us like this," Norman told reporters Thursday. "We had some tough teams that we faced, and the crazy thing is to give up one of these big plays here or there, they turn into a big thing and they turn into us losing a ball game."

The good news is that this is definitely a game the Redskins can win; the two teams equal opposites. The Bears have a solid defense and below average offense. The Redskins have a solid offense and below average defense. The bad news is that the Redskins have historically fared poorly on Monday Night Football.

"Since 1998, the Redskins are 1-16 when they play at home on Monday nights. They have dropped their last six Monday home games, with their last victory coming Dec. 3, 2012, against the New York Giants."
